This encaustic abstract gives the impression of an icy terrain, glaciers perhaps, melting and flowing into streams and rivers then into the sea, which begins in very dark turquoise and moves into indigo. There are touches of rose, of russet, copper, lavender and aqua in the dissolving ice mass, the whitest areas suggest mountain ranges. Clearly topographically-inspired, an image of the Earth from space, not so much painted, as re-created in the encaustic medium. It is framed in a simple silver canvas floater frame.
